“In response to the first question on the questionnaire, I generally agree that State Bar of Texas (“SBOT”) operations should be open and transparent. Based on that, I do not believe an open discussion of SBOT issues is promoted by a questionnaire limiting the respondent’s answers to “agree” or “disagree” as to many complex issues facing the SBOT. As candidate for State Bar Director of District 16, I am committed to discussing and considering any and all issues facing the SBOT and District 16’s constituents. This includes communicating and working with people on both sides of an issue to understand the issue’s scope and any nuances that must be considered. I look forward to working with all Texas lawyers, including all those in SBOT leadership, to make the SBOT a better institution for all Texas lawyers, including those of District 16.”
